Joichi Ito
Chief Executive Officer and Founder
Mr. Ito is recognized by Business Week as one of “Japan’s Net Builders” and by Time Magazine as a member of the Cyber Elite and one of the 50 most influential people in technology. Mr. Ito was also selected by the World Economic Forum as one of its “Global Leaders for Tomorrow” in 2002. Mr. Ito has been involved in the Internet since the early 1980’s and has founded and/or developed several Internet businesses, including Infoseek Japan, Digital Garage, Eccosys and PSINet Japan. He is a well-known speaker, a frequent government advisor, and a regular on Japanese television. Mr. Ito is the CEO of Creative Commons, a board member of Digital Garage and serves as an outside board member for CCC.

Jun Makihara
Mr. Makihara is a former Managing Director and Branch Manager of the Tokyo office of Goldman, Sachs & Co. He had a 19 year career with Goldman in New York, LA, and Tokyo, and was a partner since 1992. Mr. Makihara graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in Economics, and from Harvard Business School with an MBA.


Masato Ukaji

Mr. Ukaji joins Neoteny from Arthur Andersen where he was an Audit Manager. He also served as the Controller at Pepsico Inc. (Japan Branch), and the Accounting Manager at Cisco Systems K.K. Mr. Ukaji graduated from Keio University with a B.A. in Business and Commerce, and is a Certified Public Accountant in both the United States and Japan.


Daiji Hirata
Business Development Manager
Mr. Hirata joined Neoteny from NTT Corporation, where he helped develop a wireless lan system to support internet and intranet networks. Mr. Hirata received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Osaka University.
